Negotiator of the Year

 

Presented by ICNA to any negotiator in the State of Illinois. The following factors will be used as standards for the nomination of the candidates, in conjunction with any other outstanding contribution to negotiation, their department, or the community.

 

Knowledge of work

Any incidents/call outs(s) as primary with great success and peaceful resolutions.

Negotiations Team of the Year

 

Presented by ICNA to any negotiations team in the State of Illinois. This award shall commend extradentary team performance. In order for the team to be nominated, this aware must distinguish the team above others in the State and reflect a highly credible accomplishment. The full team participation should be explained in detail.

 

 

Brougham Award

 

Charles Broughman was the lead crisis negotiator for the Chicago Police Department Hostage Barricade Terrorist Team. As a member of a large city Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), Charles participated in a large number of operations and had a large amount of experience. Charles was always very generous with sharing the information that he had obtained through his vast body of practical experience. He was one of the early speakers and a large supporter of ICNA.

 

Sadley Charles Brougham passed away in December 2001. After serving many years in a dangerous profession. Charles succumbed to a heart attack whiles at home.

 

As ICNA’s way of honoring Charles and his amazing contributions to the art of crisis negotiation. ICNA elected to create an award in his honor. This is the most prestigious award that ICNA can bestow. The Charles Brougham Award is meant to recognize an individual’s outstanding contributions to the field of crisis negotiations. It is the upmost honor to receive this rarely granted award.
